Pre-Production

Planning our podcast.

Our pre-production meeting took place on February 14, 2021 at 3pm. During the meeting we discussed our roles for the project and which topics we wanted to participate in, in order to help the script editor have an idea of how to outline the script. We agreed on when to actually record the podcast, which will take place on Wednesday (2/17/2021) at 3pm or 4 pm. Iris and I were named co-host and with that, we were responsible for introducing the speakers, doing the transitions, and helping facilitate the conversation. In order to make the podcast more enjoyable to listen to, we agreed to make it like a conversation by asking each other questions. To structure our podcast, we wanted to make different segments talking about each subtopics. The segments would include most, but not all of the group members, so the conversation could be more focused. Our transitions between segments will consist of very blunt and obvious transitions with an introduction of the next speakers. It will also include a brief conclusion of the previous segment and a connection to the next one. During the meeting, we also collaborated and found some music we wanted to incorporate for the end and beginning of the podcast. We agreed that Shenglin would record and edit the podcast. Before our next meeting, we still need to make a master script, so everyone knows when to generally talk. We still all need to practice our parts individually, so hopefully production day will go smoothly. Our roles and responsibilities will be listed below.
